Immunotherapy and targeted therapy are alternative treatments to differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), which is usually treated with surgery radioactive iodine. However, in advanced carcinomas, molecular alterations can cause a progressive loss of iodine sensitivity, thereby making resistant iodine-refractory (RAIR).
